We breed Maltese only.  Our little ones are expected to mature between 4 and 6 pounds as adult Maltese.

Our  puppies are  small and very loving puppies.    The American Kennel Club has provided breeders with the opportunity to designate their puppies with "limited registration".  Breeders will choose to use this so that they can insure that puppies they place as pets are not subsequently sold into a puppy mill or backyard breeding program.   In fact many breeders will ask you to sign a contract that you agree to have the puppy neutered or spayed before receiving the registration papers.
Neuter/Spay Surgery:  It is highly recommended and often required by some breeders to have your pet Maltese spayed or neutered.  This surgery is usually done at about 6 months of age in both males and females.  For the females, the spay surgery is a bit more extensive.  For the males, the neuter surgery is considered a much easier procedure, with a very quick recovery time.  When spayed, the females will no longer have their heat cycles, to deal with.  When neutered, the unpleasant habits that some male dogs have been given a bad reputation for are practically eliminated.  Neutered males get along well together and make great companions with other males as well as females.
The bottom line -- you have the best chance of purchasing a Maltese that will be your loving and healthy companion for years to come if you buy from an responsible breeder.

Our puppies are sold with AKC limited registration.  Most of our Puppies are sold as pets and come with Limited Registration.  Puppies are thoroughly checked by my vet before they are sold.  All age appropriate vaccinations have been given and they have been checked for internal parasites and started on heartworm  preventatives.  Our Pet puppies are placed in homes to be loved and not bred.
.
We do not sell or ship our young puppies before they reach the age of 10 to12 weeks of age.

A responsible breeder is not in a hurry to sell their puppies they will follow the American Maltese Association (AMA) guidelines and not allow their puppies to leave for new homes before 9 to 12 weeks of age.  However, we will take deposits for litter just born or shortly due to be whelped.

Show dog breeders study their puppies from birth in hopes of choosing the best show prospect.  The puppy finding process is more of an art than a sicience.  It's just not an easy thing to do.  Sometimes a puppy that looks great at 3 months of age can mature and have qualities that are not something a breeder would consider show quality.

If you are buying a puppy for a family pet do not be concerned with the minor issues.  The most important thing is to buy a healthy, genetically sound puppy that meets breed standards in both appearance and temperament.  It is important to understand that there is nothing low quality about pet quality from a responsible  breeder.  A pet quality puppy from a responsible breeder is far superior to a "show quality" puppy from a puppy mill.
Trying to choose between a male or female?
Asthetically speaking, the males and females are both very beautiful and elegant.  Some people are afraid that a little boy shouldn't wear bows in their hair, but on the contrary..... the male Maltese can wear bows and get all dressed up, just like the ladies.
Personality wise there are some defferences between the male and female Maltese.   In a litter,  one puppy may be a bit more outgoing, more of a little clown, whereas another puppy may be a bit more reserved and tend to check things out more slowly.  These differences are based on the individual puppy's personality rather than on gender alone.
In most cases the female tends to be moody, independent, territorial and headstrong.  They will do what you want just to get it done and go back to doing what they want to do.  They tend to choose one person instead of everyone to love.  (There are some exceptions)
The male on the other hand tends to be more loving, loyal, obedient, sensitive, affectionate, they tend to bond quicker, and are clingy.  They will do what you want just to please you.   The males are puppies for life and seems to love everyone. (There are some exceptions)

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.  You on the other hand are his life, his   love, his leader. He will be yours, faitful and true, to the last beat of his heart.  You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." author unknown
